Who is the Father of "Fake News"?

As I write this following the 2016 presidential election, the term “fake news” is used frequently. Both the Democrats and Republicans claim that their candidates are victims of “fake news”. The Democrats believe their candidate lost because of “fake news”. The Republicans believe that their candidate’s election is marginalized by “fake news”.

“Fake news” is information that is presented as being truthful but in fact is not. It is accepted as true because of the authority of the source, rather than the content. People assume that the source is credible and would have verified its information before being revealed to the public. Many would define this as propaganda. Dictionary.com offers this definition of propaganda:  “information, ideas, or rumors deliberately spread widely to help or harm a person, group, movement, institution, etc.”

Actually “fake news” or propaganda is not a new concept. Messiah gave us this insight in John 8:44:

“Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speak in a lie, he speaking of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”

Now we understand from THE most credible source of information, which is Yahshua, the Son of Yahweh, what the origin of “fake news”, propaganda or simply lies, actually is.

Satan, the father of lies, originated “fake news” in the Garden of Eden. Please review this exchange between Satan and Eve in Genesis 3: 1-4:

“Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which Yahweh Elohim had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath Elohim said, ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?  And the woman said unto the serpent, we may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden.  But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, Elohim hath said, ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.  And the serpent said unto the woman, ye shall not surely die;”

Satan’s answer was very deceptive. He was referring to spiritual existence, not physical. They did not die physically until much later, which gave them the false idea that the fruit must be acceptable after all, since they did not die immediately. His “fake news” given to Eve became the basis for the doctrine of the immortal soul.

Eve was not able to discern the falseness of the narrative presented by Satan. Why would she trust a serpent? However, the Hebrew word being translated as “snake” is a mistranslation. Satan was a shining being, not a serpent. [1]   Satan was actually an attractive cherub with a lovely voice. Notice this description of Satan in Ezekiel 28: 11-15:

“Moreover the word of Yahweh came unto me, saying, son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say under him, thus saith the sovereign Yahweh; thou sealest the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.  Thou has been in Eden the garden of Elohim; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamonds, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, And gold: the workmanship of thy taberets and of thy pipes was prepared in the day that thou wast created. Thou  art the anointed cherub that covereth ; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of Elohim; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.  Thou was perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.”

Eve did not have a chance. She was distracted by the beauty of the messenger and therefore regarded the message as credible. This is the basis of “fake news“.  The source becomes more significant than the message. This is why we cannot assume truth without careful consideration.

You have come to this website looking for more information about religious knowledge. Our source is the Bible. It should be yours as well. The Bible is venerated for its age and is a recognized authority. But, you should not assume just because it is called the Bible that it always contains the truth.

There are many different translations. Each have their strengths and weaknesses, including the King James version which is highly respected.  One very significant weakness is that it does not retain the name of the creator, Yahweh. The KJV uses “LORD” instead of the Hebrew name, Yahweh.  Instead of Elohim, mighty ones, it uses G-d. This also is deceptive. G-d refers to a pagan or demonic being. This is supported by the Septuagint (commonly referred to as the LXX) translation of Isaiah 65:11, which uses the word “troop” while the LXX translates the same Hebrew word as ton demoni, the devil.

The covert elimination of the name, Yahweh, is very serious. The KJV translators are guilty of what Messiah accused the Pharisees of doing. Messiah said this to the Pharisees in Luke 11:52:  “Woe unto you, lawyers! For ye hath taken away the key of knowledge.”

Messiah was referring to the tradition of the Pharisees not to speak the name of Yahweh. They considered it too sacred. However, this did not come from Yahweh’s word, but from man. The Christian translators adopted this “ineffable name” doctrine and followed in the footsteps of the Pharisees. This ineffable name concept is another example of  “fake news”.  The power of the Pharisees gave it credibility, even though the content was worthless.

There is much information on this website to consider. But do not accept it as truth without prayer and study.  Pray for truth to Yahweh and ask for his guidance.

There is a book titled Shocked by the Bible, written by Joe Kovacs, which points out many misconceptions about the Bible.  Kovacs is a journalist and does not appear to have a denominational agenda. It could be helpful in your study of what is truth in the Bible and what people think the Bible says.

It is also helpful to utilize a Strong’s Concordance for better understanding. It is a great source for fact- checking. When the KJV Bible uses LORD in the Old Testament, look for that word in a Strong’s Concordance. You will find the number 3068. This number represents the Tetragrammaton, Yod Hey Wah Hey, or Yahweh. The English translators ignored the Hebrew word and instead followed the Jewish ineffable name doctrine by using a substitute word. They followed in the footsteps of Satan and his deceptive ways.

When you read Kovacs' book, you will find many revelations about the Bible. That is only a beginning. This is why you must pray for truth to Yahweh. The saving knowledge you need is only revealed by the Father. If He is not calling you at this time, you will be unable to go very far.  (John 6: 44)

We are not calling you. We are not trying to save souls or build membership. We are here to obey the Father and help those He sends us. Should you have questions, please ask. You are never under any obligation to us. We are here because the Father has allowed us to be. He may have directed you to us because he has an invitation for you.

  1. Pray for truth to Yahweh!
