I am aware that there are errors in the translated words of the Hebrew Scriptures. But do the Hebrew Scriptures themselves have significant errors?
Deuteronomy 21:22 tells us: “And if a man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be to be put to death, and thou hang him on a tree:…”
This seems to describe what happened to Messiah Yahshua. Peter tells us in 1Peter 2:24 that “… his [Messiah’s] own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree…” That Messiah was hung on a tree and not a cross is confirmed in other passages as well.
My concern is in Chapter 29 of Deuteronomy. In verse 18, we learn that “…should there be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe whose heart turneth away this day from Yahweh our Elohim,…” This is what happened to Messiah. He willingly chose to bear all the sin of mankind. Therefore, he became that person this verse refers to.
If I am understanding this verse correctly and how it refers to Messiah as the only one to bear all the sins of the world, then verse 20 really concerns me.
Deuteronomy 29:20 says: “Yahweh will not spare him, but then the anger of Yahweh and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him, and YAHWEH SHALL BLOT OUT HIS NAME FROM UNDER HEAVEN.’
Did this happen to Yahshua? Was his name blotted out? His name is still written in the Greek scriptures. It does not seem to be missing and therefore not blotted out. How can this be?
Acts 4:12 says: “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is NONE OTHER NAME UNDER HEAVEN given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
According to the Torah in Deuteronomy 29:20, the name Yahshua was blotted out. But according to Acts 4:12 there is no “other name under heaven” by which we can be saved.
If Messiah died in sin for ALL mankind, he was the only human to do so. Why? John tells in John 1:29: “… Behold, the Lamb of Yahweh which taketh away the sin of the world.”
Notice also in 1 John 1:7: “… the blood of Yahshua Messiah his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”
So Messiah took on all sin for all mankind. No one else had to die in sin. He was the only human to die in sin. He was also hung on a tree and not a cross. Yahshua Messiah is the only human to fulfill the Torah!
I acknowledge that at the time of his death, his name was Yahshua. But what was his name upon resurrection? His human name was blotted out, gone, no longer recognized by the Father. Yet, he had to have a new name after resurrection.
We need to know what his name became after the resurrection. Why? Because Yahshua told us that “whatsoever ye shall ask in MY NAME, that will I do …” and again, “If ye shall ask any thing in MY NAME, I will do it. (John 14:13-14).
In 1 John 3:23, we are told to “… believe in the NAME of His Son Yahshua Messiah [the anointed] …”. In fact, in the next verse, 24, we are told “And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him…” We are commanded to use his name. Which name?
Yahshua, the Lamb of Yahweh, having been defiled by all the sins of the world, could not use his blotted out name before the Father. Why? Again the answer is in the Torah. In Exodus 12:5, we are told the Passover lamb that was sacrificed before Yahweh had to be without blemish. Yahshua died without having sinned himself. (1 Peter 2:22.)
However, he could not go before his Father having a name defiled with sin. He needed a new, clean name. After death he inherited a new name. (Hebrews 1:4) What is that name? We need to know. Our eternity rests on this knowledge. What is His name in the resurrection? It cannot be the sin-stained, defiled name of Yahshua.
You will not be able to find this name in the Scriptures. Why? It is the revealed name of salvation; the name of faith. The name is revealed and is now available to you.
